About

In my late twenties, I started taking art classes in painting, ceramics, and commercial art. Life took a detour, but I eventually went back to school where I studied general education.  I had to sign up for a mandatory elective, and chose photoshop per someone’s suggestion.  I didn’t know anything about the program, and hadn’t even heard of it. At the time I used computers mainly for word processing and email.  That elective started everything for me.

I was so enchanted with the restorative capabilities of the Photoshop program that I went on to take the advanced class and then an independent study course (specifically on the restoration of severely damaged photos). Through excelling in these classes, I continued on to Cabrillo College in Aptos where I ended up earning an A.S. in Digital Media/Digital Publishing in Spring of 2022.

In my program at Cabrillo, I became proficient in Adobe programs like Illustrator and InDesign, was exposed to Premier Pro, Animate, and did well in a class on Dreamweaver.  Following graduation, I volunteered my talents in my community and practiced and developed my digital skills with personal projects – expanding on my Illustrator and InDesign experience.

I’m now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB).
